“LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?”
Psalm 15:1
Whenever I see these questions, I feel afraid. I think ‘am I eligible to dwell in His sanctuary or live in His holy hill?’ But anyway Bible makes it clear in the very next verse. Lets read ‘who is eligible?’
1. He whose walk is blameless
2. Who does what is righteous,
3. Who speaks the truth from his heart
And next verses describes the above three more elaborately.
Lets be careful whether our walk is blameless or not, are we doing what is right or not and are we speaking the truth or not…

“So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty two days. When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.”
Nehemiah 7:15-16
It is always a choice to walk in obedience to God. It is our own will, we can trust God and walk in obedience, or we can walk in our own lustful, self-ambitious will. One thing is for sure when we walk in our own desire, at first it seems good but later we will regret for our decision. We will say that ‘he got all these things but I have not got anything.’ ‘God does not love me’ and we get angry on ourselves, with others and with God also. It’s the time now, if we are not satisfied with what we have then may be it is because of our own decision. But the good news is God’s love is available always to all who decide to put their trust on Him. And we can see the difference. Our enemies, who once created trouble for us, they will be afraid and lose their self-confidence because they will know that God is with us. No matter what responsibilities God has given us to do, we can be confident to finish the task. We don’t have to be impatient, but rather trust God and go through every situation. Then only we can see the results that we are victorious only because God is with us. We can do every thing in our life that we could have never accomplished by our own.

“…let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
1 John 3:18
It is really is to speak about love, but very difficult to show our love in action. Jesus showed His love in action on the cross by giving His own life for our salvation. There are many on earth sacrificed their whole life serving the community. It was their love for people, which drove them to do so. What can we get from this life should not be our persepective but what can I give this world is important. The best thing we can give this world is our Love. Lets show our love in action.

Love has become cheap and cold these days. It is always misinterpreted as lust. But the Bible teaches us the real meaning of Love, which is far above than the love that world understands.
The Bible says –
“Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails;”
“There are three things that will endure—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
Wow! What a description of the true & divine love. Brother & Sister! Lets practice the above-described LOVE in our daily lives.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
There is always a fight between our conscience and our flesh. The conscience always tries to do what is good and flesh drags the body to culminate what it desires, which is always bad. Again there are many people who live in fear. There are people who live in depression and distress. The bottom line is, we as a whole always fail to do what is right and good in the sight of the divine. That is why Paul writes to the Philippians that ‘through Christ Jesus I can do everything.’ Everything doesn’t mean the things that are evil in the sight God. Everything means all the good and the righteous things, which are God desired things. Today there are people who believe in ‘Karma’ say they can go to heaven by their work, which is just impossible. Living a righteous life and doing good is not possible unless we take the divine help. So we need to be aware of the truth that we can do all things with and only with the help of Christ Jesus.
Brothers and sisters! Lets seek His strength to do all things that are desired and designed by Him for our lives.

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
(1st John 4: 10)
People sacrifice to please their gods and goddesses. However, Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself to save this world. But here a question arises. Why Jesus had to sacrifice Himself to save the whole mankind? Was it necessary? Lets just consider the attributes of Lord our God. The Bible says, “God is Holy”(Lev. 11:44-45 & Jos. 24:19) and God’s holiness says there is no relationship between holy and unholy. Secondly, it says “God is Righteous”(Ps. 11:7 & 145:17) and God’s righteousness says there is no relationship between righteous and unrighteous. Thirdly, the Bible also says that “God is Just”(Ps. 9:16) and God’s justice says there is no relationship between just and unjust.
Alas! Man has sinned against God and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom.3: 23) and he became unholy, unrighteous and unjust. All the above-mentioned attributes of God declare that man cannot come to the presence of God and has to be punished. And the punishment is “DEATH”(Rom.6: 23).
Hold on! There is still another attribute of God left. And that is, “God is LOVE” (1 John 4: 8). And God’s love says “I have created this man in my own image (Gen.1: 27), how can I punish him. I will save him from this eternal death; I will make him righteous, just and holy. I will give him eternal life”(John 3:16). And he can come to the presence of God.
Therefore, Jesus became flesh (John 1:14) to take our punishment on Himself, to save us, to be an Emmanuel God for us (Matt.1: 23) and to have fellowship with us forever and ever. On that cross, God executed all His attributes together not even abandoning one.
That is the uniqueness of our God’s plan because He is UNIQUE, Jesus is UNIQUE and His sacrifice is UNIQUE.

Life is wonderful! It’s the most wonderful gift; God has given us to make use of it to its highest extent. It’s worth enjoying every moment of this wonderful gift. But there is a yardstick, a standard given to use this gift of God for his glory. The wise king Solomon has given few tips to the youth on ‘How to live a life?’ Those are as under: -
“Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun. However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all but him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is meaningless. Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them…” Remember him- before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Eccl. 11:7-10; 12:1, 6-7)
Certainly life is wonderful. If you are not enjoying your life, start enjoying it in this New Year according to the standard God has set before us and soon you will find it Wonderful.

“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
John 13:14-15
Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. I was thinking why he had to set this example before us. What was the reason behind this whole act? I found three reasons behind this.
He washed His disciples’ feet out of LOVE – John 13:1c.
He loved His disciples to the uttermost and as a sign of His highest love he washed their feet. Wow! What a way to express love for others. We need to learn this daily.
He washed His disciples’ feet out of HUMILITY – John 13:3.
Here we see that Jesus was given all authority and He was from God. In fact He is God himself (John 10:30), but He washed His disciples feet. In Phil 2:5-7 its written ‘…He took the very nature of a servant…’ that shows His humility. We need to practice it daily in our lives.
He washed His disciples’ feet out of RESPONSIBILITY.
He did it out of a saviour’s responsibility. As we walk through this life in the world we commit sin and make our feet dirty. And we need regular consecration from our sin. We need to be washed daily by our saviour, as He is faithful and just to forgive all our sins (1 John 1:9).
As our saviour washes our feet daily, it is our responsibility to wash the feet of others daily. This was His command to us to wash other’s feet.
How can we do this? Let’s see how the word of God teaches us to wash others feet as given below:
Gal.6:1-2:- “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”
Eph. 4:2:- “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
1 Pet 4:8:- “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
So let us admonish (wash others feet) each other out of love, out of humility and with much more responsibility. May the Holy Spirit bless us and guide us.
